FARM SITTER WANTED!!
We are once again looking for a new farm sitter to stay here from August 14-October 6 this year.
Scott will be going early to Scotland to prepare for the World Trial and Jenny is hoping to travel to trials in Saskatchewan and the US.
Duties would be light and leave you time to train your own dogs or kayak, with or without your dogs, on the local lakes (you can borrow my kayak) or drive to beautiful Waterton just a couple hours away.
We take the border collies on the road with us so that just leaves the sheep flock with 3 easy guardian dogs, the chickens and the house cats.
If you don’t have your own flock of sheep this is the perfect opportunity be able to step outside your door and train your dog every day. Past farm sitters have told us they have made more progress in 2 months at our place than they can all year at home. We have a round pen, an outdoor arena, a smaller fenced training field (about 10 acres) and a larger fenced field (about 50 acres- where you can get a 300 plus outrun)
It is a quiet, rural place but it’s just 40 minutes easy drive to Lethbridge, Alberta where you can get anything you need. Our Wifi (and cel service) is good enough that previous farm sitters who work from home, have been able to continue their work here and of course, it’s good enough that you can watch Meeker, the World Trial and the National Finals stream from the comfort of the couch. (Plus movie streaming services).
Dogs are welcome to stay in the house but must get along with house cats (or can stay in one of the crates in the house if they don’t)
